When I first took over William C Huff Moving and Storage 30 years ago, it was just a small, 2 men/1 truck company. I got engaged using our company to help our communities. I remember supporting the NH State Realtors’ Association’s annual convention by literally building a portable putting golf course and bringing it to the convention as a way to boost entertainment and bonding with Realtors and vendors. It was a big hit and for the next several years one of the featured events at the annual convention was the William C Huff Company’s “Champagne Putting contest”.
When word got out that we had a portable putting course, one of our staff member’s mom, who was on the board of directors for the NH State Special Olympics, asked if we could set it up for their annual competition at the university track and field venue. It was such a big hit with the special Olympians that long lines formed and the volunteers would have to “pry” the athletes away to go and do their scheduled events. This began our involvement with supporting the community, almost 30 years ago. Over the years our NH and FL offices have been involved with literally 40 or more community non-profits. This has helped our staff and our community to really understand the real needs of others while making a difference, one event and activity at a time.
