SERVICING DESIGNERS

Helping designers to design.

As a designer you have many hats to wear. Staying focused on making the clients’ dreams become reality is not easy. Countless hours of matching colors and fabrics, getting just the right pieces to accent the rooms and walking the homeowner through each step is what you do. The last thing you need to worry about is the receiving, storing and installation of these precious, hand-picked items.

William C. Huff Companies has completed thousands of projects for top designers around the country. From large 35,000 sq ft estates to custom remodels of penthouses, all projects have been on-time and on budget but, most importantly, without any major issues upon the installation.

We provide moving & storage services to designers | William C. Huff Companies - Moving & Storage

As with all design jobs, there is a budget for receiving, inspection and, installation of the project. At William C. Huff we understand this and work hard to help save money for the designers we service. The countless hours we save our designers in headaches and follow-ups to issues found through our comprehensive “open and inspect” have helped them better manage the client’s project and stay on time.

Also, we offer “ala carte “ pricing so the designer can choose from the most basic level of receiving to full level concierge with on-board repair for touch-ups and quick fixes on minor issues found upon the inspection.

William C. Huff Companies have several highly trained and experienced staff who daily receive, open and inspect for our design companies. Their trained eyes will detect even the smallest blemish and can notify the designer within 48 hours of the item being received. (Often it is within the same day but on unusually busy receiving days it can take up to 2 days to get the notification).

The office staff at William C. Huff are also very experienced and understand the importance of taking care of our designers’ clients. They promptly get last minute details relayed to the operations staff who can change scheduling for the designer and their client.

All received items are accurately identified, tagged and put away in our secure, clean and temperature controlled warehouse. Items can be flagged for easy access for viewing and also be tagged according to how the designer wants the installation to be done.

William C. Huff Companies is currently working on a comprehensive barcode and notification system which will the designer more direct “real time” access to the pieces which have been received. It is anticipated that the system will be working before the end of 2017.

Large residential or commercial projects are the William C. Huff specialty. We have enough trained staff to guarantee a smooth and issue free installation, no matter how big. Many homes over 20,000 sq ft have been done in less than 4 days.

Often special equipment is needed to get items into homes that have been built or remodeled. William C. Huff Companies has many years of experience with cranes, special lifts, dollies and other equipment. An experienced team with a crane operator is essential for a problem free lift into a high-rise.

At William C Huff “Open and Inspect” means our experienced staff will carefully unbox or uncrate each item to make sure damage does not happen while opening the item. Many crated items from Europe are so securely crated that it requires experience time and patience to properly uncrate the piece.

Once the inspection is done any noticeable flaws or damage are noted and the designer is notified via email or phone call. Prompt action is put in place to ensure that corrections are made in a timely fashion to meet any installation deadlines.

When “everything is said and done” the crowning moment for the designer and the homeowner is when all the hours of planning and ordering and shipping and storing is over and it’s time to have everything installed. The last thing to have happen after months, if not years, of work is to have it all be undone because the installation had problems. Delays, damages, or costly time overages will leave a very bad taste in the homeowner’s mouth.

With the many years of experience and multi-level types of installations behind them, the William C. Huff team always makes the installation go smoothly. Often times designers schedule several of our men over several days to do their installation, mainly because they are used to how long it takes with other companies, only to find out that they needed fewer men and fewer days than they had anticipated.

The William C. Huff installation teams are available to oversee any large installation around the country. Currently the company has been contracted to orchestrate the complete logistics for receiving, O&I, delivery and setup for a 34,000 sq ft estate through a second party warehouse. William C. Huff traveled to the area and vetted a qualified warehouse and set up all the parameters for the designer and client. During installation William C. Huff Companies set up a team of four highly experienced and trained staff to assist and oversee the other warehouse company throughout the installation. The project was completed on-time and on budget with no major problems.

It is important for the designer to know that the precious items that have been sent to the warehouse will be stored in a neat, clean and fully climate controlled storage environment. Often the project may take up to 3-4 years and being stored in the perfect temperature is essential. Our storage facilities are kept clean and well organized and temperature and humidity is monitored 24/7.

The final impression to the homeowner is when the crew shows up to deliver their long awaited furnishings. The last thing they want to see is a poorly kept vehicle in front of their brand new residence. At William C. Huff we take pride in our vehicles and realize that we only have one chance to make a good first impression. Clean, new vehicles set the stage for a successful installation!

William C. Huff has a “viewing” room for designers can actually see what their arrangements will look like in the new house. The state of the art room is in the process of being outfitted with lighting that can replicate thousands of light scenarios, mimicking almost any natural or man-made light situation. It will be fully operational in mid-summer 2017.
